LANBI has recently delivered to European customers two full Ball Stud Manufacturing Cells. Starting from the blank automatic feeding, the ball studs are turned in two steps: Shank machining and Ball machining. At the second step the ball is cut and burnished in polar coordinates, getting a perfect ball finishing, far below Rz 1.
Once the part is machined, a full dimensional control is done and thanks to these values, the CNC offsets are automatically corrected. Then a robot handles the stud into a rolling machine and the thread is rolled.
Finally, after a cleaning process, the part is fully inspected: thread control, crack control (shank and ball areas) and torx presence. NOK parts are automatically rejected and OK parts are palletized in boxes.
The output of the line is in less than 9 seconds per part, and all the performance and maintenance information can be monitored online thanks to LANBI Digital platform.
